open house event materials

For Columbia's Open House event, I created a suite of promotional materials to enhance engagement and showcase the school's offerings.

This project included a logo, posters, assets creation, interactive questionnaire cards, custom-designed roulette wheel with topics for the questionnaire. The whole process required precise measurements and hands-on testing, along with preparation for large-scale printing, all completed within a tight five-week timeframe.

While adhering to Columbia's brand guidelines wasn't mandatory, my challenge was to make the entire suite fun, engaging, and attention-grabbing without being able to visualize the event space.

This project showed my ability to create cohesive, multi-element marketing materials that support the event objectives and enhance visitor experience.

class promotion poster

I was tasked with designing an engaging poster to promote the Spring 2025 class offerings for the School of Communication & Culture.

Each visual component was chosen to represent specific content in those classes to make the poster appealing and informative.

This project showed my ability to translate content from academic courses into visual assets, bridging the gap between communication and design.

print pattern design

I designed a custom pattern that are printed and applied on to the school's information boards, incorporating elements that reflect the majors offered by the School of Communication and Culture, the vibrant energy of Chicago, and the school’s spirit. The colors and typefaces are pulled from the school's brand guideline, promoting the school's programs and creating a fun focal point for people who pass by.

newsletter GIF designs

I created weekly GIFs for the school's newsletter to support the information and boost engagement. The project showed how visual elements can make communication more effective. It was a regular task that added value to the newsletter and helped keep readers interested!
