Vĩnh Thuận is a Vietnamese flour brand founded in 1985. The company specializes in producing pre-mixed flours for a variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes and pastries, simplifying the cooking and baking process, given the complex preparation methods often required in Vietnamese cuisine.

The redesign aimed to help the product stand out from its competitors by encouraging young people to embrace Vietnam’s traditional food culture, while also introducing international audiences to the richness of our cuisine.

approach

I began this project by researching other pre-mixed flour brands and conducting a competitive analysis. My goal was to create a design that balanced a fresh, engaging aesthetic with the traditional functionality of the packaging. A new color palette was introduced while multilingual elements were kept to ensure accessibility.

The redesign prioritized sustainability, switching from plastic to eco-friendly paper bags.

This project taught me how to be creative within constraints, maintaining essential information while improving both the visual appeal and functionality of the packaging.

During the logo exploration phase, I aimed to keep key elements from the original logo, such as the letter K, while making sure there is balance in the composition. This approach allowed me to honor the brand's identity while creating a fresh and young visual.

The final logo design features a combination of the logo mark and logotype, made to ensure contrast and visibility across all use cases. While maintaining key elements from the original design, the new logo shows a balance that honors the brand's identity while enhancing its versatility.

The illustrations represent real dishes made from these flours, brought to life through broken lines, a limited color palette, textured elements, and minimal details. This approach adds a playful and engaging quality to the visuals, making them fun to look at and interact with.
